Day 3 & 4

I took yesterday off as a rest day, but ran this morning. Now I am running faster than my daughter who struggled to keep up with me. I think she's a little challenged in the endurance department after 2 runs already this week.

Couple of years ago I had a dream of running my first marathon before I turn 30. After the first weeks running is becomes very addictive. And one gets these silly ideas.

(I had spent the first 20 years of my life hating all sports but after army I was in moderate shape and started to go cycling / running / fencing every once in a while.)

Needless to say it never happened (marathon that is, I did manage to turn 30). Still every now and then this dream comes haunting me again.

Good luck on your quest!

Thanks, bahus! I've been as erratic with my dedication to running over the years as I have been with chess. I hope that by developing the discipline to train for and run in a marathon I will perhaps develop the drive necessary for even greater things. One thing I'm considering is starting my own business. It's a risky endeavor and requires a lot of planning, hard work, and determination to succeed. Just like chess and running. That's a ways off though....
